Cueva del Gato

Cueva del Gato

About the place

Cueva del Gato is a major natural landmark in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. The cave entrance resembles the face of a cat, giving the site its distinctive name. From the dark opening emerges the river Guadales, fed by more than four kilometers of underground passages. The contrast between dry grey rock and rushing water creates a striking visual tension. The site forms a cohesive natural ensemble that feels like a gateway to an unseen subterranean world.
