The Nerja Caves are a massive karst system featuring an impressive forest of stalactites and stalagmites. Inside the chambers stands a 32 meter high column officially recognized as the largest in the world. Ancient cave paintings dating back thousands of years have been discovered deep within the galleries. Due to exceptional natural acoustics the caves serve as a unique venue for annual international music festivals. This landmark is one of Spain's most visited natural wonders and offers a well maintained walking route for visitors.
