Treasure Cave

Treasure Cave

About the place

The Treasure Cave is unique because its galleries were shaped by marine currents and waves millions of years ago rather than by freshwater. Inside the mountain, a pathway leads visitors through spacious halls with unusual rock formations and small underground lakes. The site earned its name from an ancient legend about a treasure hidden by an Almoravid emperor within these dark grottoes. The cave walls preserve remnants of prehistoric rock art and archaeological finds dating back to the Paleolithic and Bronze Ages. Walking through these illuminated corridors allows you to witness a rare combination of sea-formed erosion and terrestrial cave structures.
