Oros Bajo Waterfall

Oros Bajo Waterfall

About the place

Oros Bajo Waterfall is carved into unique flysch layers of sandstone and slate. The steep cliffs bear traces of ancient glaciers and form a compact canyon with a rounded plunge pool. The concave rock surfaces around the waterfall create an almost otherworldly space with echoing sounds. Continuous erosion sculpts complex reliefs, revealing millions of years of Pyrenean geology. Rare ferns and mosses cling to the shaded walls, creating a cool microclimate even in summer.
