Santa Cruz de la Seros

About the place

Santa Cruz de la Seros is a medieval village in northern Aragon, located within a natural amphitheater of foothills and rocky cliffs. The settlement grew around a womens monastery founded in the eleventh century under royal protection. Stone houses with massive walls and tall conical chimneys define the traditional architectural character of the village. Two Romanesque churches rise above the rooftops, emphasizing the historical and spiritual importance of the site. The contrast between strict church geometry and rugged mountain relief gives the village a strong visual identity.
