Aguero

About the place
Aguero is a traditional Aragonese settlement that is literally tucked against the base of massive, uniquely shaped cliffs rising two hundred meters high. The village houses are built from stone, allowing them to blend seamlessly into the rugged mountain environment. One of the main points of interest is the Church of Santiago, an outstanding example of 12th-century Romanesque architecture. The surrounding area is popular with climbers and hikers due to the many trails that circle the rock massifs. From any point in the village, visitors can enjoy a monumental view of the sheer stone walls, which take on a reddish hue at sunset.
