Casa del Vino is a museum of Tenerife wine set in an old estate house in El Sauzal, on the island's north coast. Its exhibition rooms trace the history of wine-making on the island, alongside smaller displays on honey and agriculture. The house also runs tastings of regional varietals and has a restaurant and a shop selling bottles, spreads and liqueurs, banana wine among them.

What makes it special
The tasting happens outdoors, in the courtyard of the old hacienda. Three or four wines come to the table, running from white through rosé to red, each set beside something from the island: goat's cheese, honey, a cheese spread, cured pork leg.
Inside, the exhibition rooms tell the story of wine on Tenerife, and smaller displays cover honey and farming. The estate grounds are large, with room to wander after the last glass. On the way out, the shop stocks island bottles next to spreads and liqueurs. Look for the banana wine.
Good to know
- A tasting means several glasses. If you are driving, pick a designated driver or come by bus: the nearest stop is about 110 m away.
- The tasting table is in the open courtyard. Bring a light jacket in winter, when the north coast turns cool.
- The exhibition rooms sit apart from the tasting. Set time aside for them before or after your glass.
- There is a restaurant on site if you want a proper meal after the tasting.
