Beach of the Cathedrals

About the place
Located on the coast of Galicia, this beach is shaped by constant Atlantic erosion that carved massive arches, vaults, and corridors into the coastal cliffs. At low tide, the ocean retreats and reveals a walkable sandy floor beneath towering rock formations rising up to thirty meters high. The vertical walls and natural buttresses form a continuous architectural sequence that evokes Gothic cathedrals carved entirely from stone. The scale of the formations dominates the landscape, while the rhythm of tides defines the experience of the place. Outside low tide, the same space becomes inaccessible, reinforcing the sense of a temporary and ceremonial landscape.
