Bufones de Pria

About the place
Bufones de Pria is a network of vertical shafts in the coastal cliffs that connect the ocean to the surface above. During high tides or storms, the waves force water into these cavities with immense pressure, creating tall water jets and a deafening roar. Air and mist burst out with a whistling sound similar to the snorting of a giant beast, which gives the site its name. The surrounding landscape consists of jagged cliffs and green meadows that drop sharply into the crashing Atlantic. This site vividly demonstrates the incredible energy of the ocean, which can turn coastal rocks into massive natural fountains.
