Cliffs of Hell

Cliffs of Hell

About the place

Cliffs of Hell form one of the wildest coastal landscapes in Asturias, with limestone walls rising more than eighty meters above sea level. The name comes from the deep roar created when large ocean waves crash against the cliffs and rush through narrow sea caves. A walking path runs close to the cliff edge, offering views of sculpted rock formations shaped by wind and salt water. During storms, water and spray burst upward through natural fissures, creating powerful visual effects. The open sea horizon and steep coastal relief give this area a raw and striking character.
