Queen's Viewpoint

About the place
Queen's Viewpoint sits on a steep slope of the Picos de Europa massif, providing dramatic vistas of limestone peaks and deep green valleys. Clouds often drift below the terrace, and soaring griffon vultures add life to the skies. The viewpoint is named after Queen Victoria Eugenie, officially opened in 1918 during the 1200th anniversary of the Battle of Covadonga. Visitors can experience both natural beauty and cultural history, including the nearby Covadonga lakes. The route to the viewpoint is part of the legendary "Lagos de Covadonga" climb, famed in the Vuelta a Espana cycling race.
