Cadini di Misurina

About the place
Cadini di Misurina is a rugged mountain massif in the eastern Dolomites, located in the province of Belluno, northwest of Auronzo di Cadore, rising above Lake Misurina. The massif is part of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage. The highest peak, Cima Cadin di San Lucano, reaches 2,839 m above sea level. The name “Cadini” means “valleys” or “bowls” and reflects the labyrinth of depressions and gorges that form the massif. The landscape is dominated by towers, spires, cliffs, and narrow ridges shaped by glacial erosion and time. For mountain and nature enthusiasts, Cadini di Misurina offers breathtaking views, relative tranquility compared to more popular peaks, and the chance to fully experience the spirit of the Dolomites in a wild, mountainous setting.
