Figueretes Beach lies in the Figueretes neighbourhood of Ibiza Town, on Ibiza in Spain's Balearic Islands. The shore is a chain of small sandy stretches broken by rocky sections, with a promenade running behind it lined with hotels, bars and restaurants. The neighbourhood grew up as a holiday district in the 20th century on land once planted with small fig trees, which gave it its name.

What makes it special
Early in the morning a groomer combs the sand, a cleaning machine runs over the promenade tiles, and the only people about are runners. By midday the same waterfront is a town beach in full swing: swimmers, sunbathers, and cafés, bars and restaurants right behind the sand.
The shore is a string of small sandy patches between rocky stretches, so where you lay your towel decides what kind of beach day you get. In the evening local children take over the space for football. In winter the crowds drain away and the promenade becomes a quiet place for long walks by the sea, with a coffee at one of the cafés along the way. The centre of Ibiza Town is about 30 minutes away on foot.
Good to know
- The sand comes in patches between rocky stretches. In summer the beach fills, so arrive early if you want a sandy spot.
- The nearest public toilets are about 570 m away in a straight line; the cafés along the promenade are closer.
- A free drinking-water tap stands about 630 m away.
- A tourist information office is about 75 m from the beach.
- This is a busy town beach with hotels and restaurants behind it. For a secluded swim, pick another beach on the island.
Getting there
The beach runs along the seafront promenade of Figueretes, so whatever you arrive in, the sand is right there. Two bus stops, es Viver and C. del País Basc, sit about 200 m and 240 m away in a straight line. Drivers have two car parks nearby: one about 275 m away is for customers only, the other is about 300 m away. On foot, the walk from the centre of Ibiza Town takes about 30 minutes.
Best time to visit
Best: early morning, and any time outside the summer season.
Avoid: summer afternoons, if you want room on the sand.
At first light the promenade is empty and the sand freshly groomed, while in summer this town beach fills up, and in winter it turns quiet enough for long, unhurried walks along the water.
