Footbridge over the Canelles Reservoir

Footbridge over the Canelles Reservoir

About the place

The footbridge runs along massive limestone walls formed over millions of years by the Nogera Ribagorsa River. Metal walkways follow the natural bends of the canyon, maintaining a close visual connection with the rock face and the water below. The contrast between turquoise reservoir waters and warm limestone tones defines the character of the landscape. The structure was installed with high technical precision, using helicopters and climbers to secure each section to the cliffs. The route forms part of a longer trail linking the Monfalco area in Aragon with the Mont Rebei gorge in Catalonia.
