Hoz Mala Footbridges

About the place
Hoz Mala Footbridges wind above emerald water, curving around vertical limestone slabs tilted by tectonic forces. Some sections of the canyon are only three to four meters wide, with cliff walls reaching up to a hundred meters. The raging Guadalopé river carved deep bowls and cascades into the rock over thousands of years. The reddish sun-baked cliffs contrast with icy water, creating a dramatic and rugged landscape typical of the Iberian mountains. The area hosts rare lichens and mosses in canyon niches, while vultures and eagles nest on the cliff tops.
