La Calahorra Castle

About the place
La Calahorra Castle is a massive defensive structure featuring four powerful corner towers topped with domes. Behind its austere brick walls lies an elegant inner courtyard crafted from Carrara marble by Italian artisans. This building was the first to introduce Renaissance ideas into the traditional architecture of the region, moving away from the prevailing Gothic style. From the fortress hill, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Marquesado del Zenete plateau and the snowy mountain peaks. The castle's unique appearance frequently attracts filmmakers, serving as a setting for productions like "House of the Dragon" and "Assassin's Creed."
