About the place
Mundo River Viewpoint offers a full-scale view of the Mundo River valley. A winding riverbed, steep slopes, and small white houses of Ayna clinging to the rocks are clearly visible. The surrounding landscape is quiet and austere, dominated by stone and sky. The viewpoint forms a unified natural ensemble where river curves fit perfectly into the rigid mountain geometry. Opposite cliffs resemble endless walls of a natural fortress. Beneath the viewpoint a deep gorge opens, with green river gardens contrasting the ochre stone.
