Museum of the Royal Site of Covadonga is housed in the former Escolania building facing the Basilica. The exhibition spans more than a thousand years of history, from the early medieval origins of the sanctuary to the nineteenth century. Royal offerings, manuscripts, jewelry, and artworks illustrate the growth of Covadonga as a spiritual and political landmark. The stone architecture of the museum blends naturally with the mountain landscape of the Picos de Europa National Park.
