What makes it special
Drifts of dried seagrass lie along the shore, springy underfoot like a thin mattress, and the rocks at the water's edge hide crabs that keep children busy. On a still day the sea lies flat across the bay.
The sand is pale and coarse, broken up by rocks and pebbles, and the hotels come right down to the back of the beach. This is a resort beach through and through: rows of sunbeds and parasols, one or two snack bars, and crowds in the high season. The car parks sit about 100 m away, which makes it an easy day out with young children.
Good to know
- Food comes from one or two snack bars, and there is little else around the beach.
- The nearest drinking fountain (Fuente PFM - Sant Tomàs) is about 290 m away; the nearest public toilets about 420 m.
- The beach gets very crowded in the high season; arrive early for space near the water.
- The sand faces the midday sun. Bring your own shade or hire a parasol, and a hat.
- Rocks and pebbles run through the sand and the shallows, so water shoes help.
Getting there
By car the approach ends almost on the sand: two car parks lie about 100 m from the beach, and the walk from either is over in a couple of minutes. Wheelchair-accessible parking is available.
By bus, the nearest stop is C. Sant Tomàs, 24, about 230 m from the beach, with Lord Nelson about 330 m away. From either stop the rest is a walk down through the village to the sand.
Best time to visit
Best: June or September, early in the morning or from late afternoon.
Avoid: Midday in July and August.
The beach fills up in the high season, the sand takes the full midday sun, and the only shade comes from parasols.
