San Martin de Don Viewpoint
About the place
The San Martin de Don Viewpoint is a natural balcony set on the edge of high limestone cliffs above the Ebro River. From here, the view opens onto a deep gorge often called the Castilian fjords, where the river is tightly enclosed by sheer rock walls. This place is one of the best spots for birdwatching, as vultures frequently glide at eye level or just below the viewpoint. The height and open space help visitors clearly sense the scale of the canyon carved by the river over centuries. The path to the viewpoint passes through shaded forests, making the sudden view over the abyss even more striking.
