Elche Palm Grove

About the place
The Palm Grove of Elche is Europe’s largest historic grove, with over 200,000 date palms spread across approximately 500 ha, originating in Roman times and expanded under the Caliphate of Córdoba. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2000, it features a historic irrigation system, the National Artistic Garden (Huerto del Cura), a Palm Grove Museum, and the scenic 2.5 km Route del Palmeral.
