Episcopal Palace of Astorga

About the place
The Episcopal Palace of Astorga is a monumental Neo-Gothic building constructed from light gray granite according to the design of Antoni Gaudí. The structure resembles a medieval castle with its cylindrical towers, a surrounding moat, and pointed arches. Inside the palace, visitors can admire the master's characteristic ceramic details, stained glass windows, and intricate vaulted ceilings. Currently, the building houses the Museum of the Roads, which is dedicated to the history of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. This architectural masterpiece is one of the few works by Gaudí located outside of Catalonia.
