Ucero Castle

About the place
Ucero Castle is an impressive 13th century defensive structure located in the province of Soria. The fortress was built on a strategic height to control the entrance to the Rio Lobos Canyon and belonged to the Bishopric of Osma for centuries. Today, the massive walls and the main keep still stand, decorated with distinctive Gothic architectural elements. Visitors, while climbing the stony path to the castle ruins, can appreciate the scale of medieval craftsmanship and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley. Shrouded in legends of the Knights Templar, this site is a must see destination for history enthusiasts traveling through the Castile and Leon region.
