Alcazar of Segovia

About the place
The Alcazar of Segovia is a unique palace complex whose characteristic silhouette famously inspired Walt Disney’s iconic castle. Throughout its long history, the structure has served as a Roman fort, a royal residence, a state prison, and a military academy. The interior chambers, such as the Throne Room and the Moorish Room, feature exquisite Mudejar ceilings and extensive armor collections. The Tower of Juan II offers the finest panoramic views over the old town and the legendary Roman aqueduct. Today, the fortress operates as a museum and is a designated UNESCO World Heritage site representing the grandeur of medieval Castile.
