Monte Palace Tropical Garden

The Monte Palace Tropical Garden is located high above the city of Funchal and is one of the most famous botanical parks on Madeira Island. Its area covers about 70,000 m², featuring plant species from all over the world — from African cycads to azaleas, sequoias, and laurel trees. The garden includes themed Japanese and Chinese sections with pagodas, bridges, and ponds filled with koi carp. Besides plants, it also houses a museum of contemporary art and a unique collection of minerals from various continents. Terraces, fountains, exotic sculptures, and panoramic views of Funchal make it a perfect place for a peaceful walk and relaxation in nature.
