Mount Baldo

Mount Baldo

About the place

Mount Baldo is an Alpine massif in Italy that stretches along the eastern shore of Lake Garda between the provinces of Trento and Verona. The mountain ridge is approximately 40 km long, and its highest peak — Cima Valdritta — reaches an elevation of 2,218 m. Monte Baldo is famous for its incredible biodiversity — more than 1,900 plant species grow here, many of them endemic, which earned the mountain the nickname “Garden of Europe.” The mountain offers numerous hiking and cycling routes with panoramic views of the lake and valleys. In 30 minutes, the cable car from the town of Malcesine lifts visitors to a high-altitude viewpoint overlooking the Alps and Lake Garda. In winter, part of Monte Baldo’s slopes turns into a ski area — a great opportunity to combine the beauty of the Alps with winter sports.
