Parcines Waterfall

Parcines Waterfall

About the place

Parcines Waterfall is an impressive waterfall located near the village of Parcines in South Tyrol. The height of the free-falling water is about 100 meters, making it one of the tallest and most spectacular waterfalls in the Alps. Depending on snowmelt or rainfall, the water flow can reach 4,000–10,000 liters per second — the water crashes down with a roar, creating a “water curtain,” and rainbows often appear in the sunlight. You can reach the waterfall by a scenic trail (about 1.5–3 hours depending on the route), or take a bus in summer. The trail is well marked, and the final viewing platform is located right beneath the waterfall. The surrounding landscape features alpine scenery, forested valleys, and smaller cascades, creating excellent conditions for nature lovers, hikers, and families.
