Tristaina Lakes

About the place
The Tristaina Glacial Lakes — Primer, Mig, and Mes Amunt — sit at an altitude of over 2,300 meters. Each lake features a unique water hue, ranging from bright turquoise to deep navy, depending on depth and light conditions. The surrounding landscape is shaped by granite peaks and alpine meadows, where snow often lingers until early summer. Hiking the circular trails from the Arcalis ski resort, travelers can view the entire lake chain from above. This site is essential for understanding the region’s glacial history and serves as a premier destination for high-altitude trekking in the Pyrenees.
