Lac de Mar

Lac de Mar is a high mountain glacial lake with dark blue water and rocky shores. It lies in a deep basin surrounded by steep cliffs and loose stones where vegetation is scarce. A small island sits in the center of the lake and is clearly visible from the trail, adding character to the landscape. The route follows the Rius valley and requires more than one and a half kilometers of hiking. From the shoreline visitors can see wide views of surrounding ridges and open high mountain terrain.
