Haría sits 270 m up in a valley of palms in Lanzarote's mountainous north, and gives its name to the northernmost and easternmost municipality in the Canary Islands, with the Atlantic on three sides. Viewpoints on the western heights look out over the island, the Mirador del Río the best known of them. To the north-east, the lava of the Malpaís de la Corona holds the Cueva de los Verdes and the Jameos del Agua. Órzola, at the northern tip, is the port for La Graciosa.

How long to stay
A day by car covers the town, the viewpoints on the western heights and the lava tunnels at the Cueva de los Verdes and the Jameos del Agua. Add a second day for La Graciosa: the ferry from Órzola takes 30 minutes, so the island fits easily into a day trip, and you come back the same way.
Getting around
You need a car. The LZ-1 runs north from Arrecife all the way to Órzola, with a branch inland at Arrieta for Haría. The bus links Haría with Máguez and is too infrequent for anywhere else in the north.
Cycling distances are not great, but the gradients are steep and a stiff Atlantic breeze blows in your face.
From Órzola, ferries cross to Caleta de Sebo on La Graciosa in 30 minutes. There is no other route to the island, so you return the same way.
