What makes it special

The water is the reason to come. It runs clear and blue over the sand, and it changes from one day to the next: often choppy, with waves rolling up the beach, other days flat and calm. Getting into the sea is easy.

Pine-covered slopes frame the cove, and the low houses of the resort village sit back among the trees. The beach has what a day on the sand needs and little beyond it. Sunbeds and umbrellas are for hire, there are toilets, and a small bar sells refreshments.

Good to know

  • Sea: the water is often choppy, other days calm. Plan a swim with small children around the conditions on the day.
  • Food: a small bar sells refreshments. Bring a picnic if you want a proper lunch.
  • Water: there is no public drinking fountain nearby. Bring your own or buy it at the bar.
  • On the sand: sunbeds and umbrellas are for hire, and the toilets stand right by the beach.

Getting there

Most visitors arrive by car. The main car park is unpaved, shaded and about 170 m away in a straight line, and there is street parking as well. A second car park, about 750 m away, is private, so do not leave the car there.

Bus stops lie about 700 m away in a straight line. From there the rest of the way to the beach is on foot.

Best time to visit

Best: a calm morning in summer, when the sea lies flat. Avoid: the middle of the day in July and August, and days when the wind drives waves into the cove. An east-facing cove takes the morning sun straight off the sea, Ibiza's beaches are at their fullest at the height of summer, and rough water makes swimming hard work.
