Constitution Square, popularly called Plaza de la Pila, is a square in the historic centre of Icod de los Vinos, in the north-west of Tenerife, close to the parish church. In the 16th and 17th centuries the town's leading noble families built their mansions around it, and several of these buildings in the traditional Canarian style are still preserved. A fountain occupies the centre, planted round with hibiscus, myrtle and palms.

What makes it special
A fountain stands in the middle, ringed by hibiscus, myrtle and palm trees, and three benches sit in the shade of old trees beside it. That is most of the square, and it is enough to make you stay a while.
The interest lies in the walls around it. The town's noble families built their mansions here in the 16th and 17th centuries, and several of those houses still stand, in the Canarian manor style of plastered fronts and wooden balconies. Casa Museo Los Cáceres is one of the neighbours.
The square stays quiet and rarely fills. The parish church is a stone's throw away, and the Dragon Tree (Drago Milenario), the butterfly museum and a banana museum are all nearby, so it makes a natural pause between them.
