Parish Church of Saint Mark the Evangelist

The Parish Church of Saint Mark the Evangelist is located in the town of Icod de los Vinos on the island of Tenerife. According to tradition, in the 1500s a sacred figure of Saint Mark appeared on the nearby beach, which led to the construction of a chapel and later the establishment of the parish. The present building took shape in the 18th century and contains numerous sculptural works from renowned workshops — including a Baroque Christ Yacente from Mexico, a statue of Saint Rose of Viterbo, and a Gothic figure of Saint Mark. The church holds the status of a “Cultural Heritage Site.”
