Durcal Route
About the place
Durcal Route is a hiking trail running along the deep canyon of the Durcal River at the southern foothills of the Sierra Nevada. The route passes through narrow gorges, reed thickets, gardens, and shaded riverbanks. Several historic bridges of different periods span the canyon, including large metal structures. Steep rock walls rise above the path, creating strong vertical contrasts and cool microclimates. Durcal Route combines natural scenery with industrial heritage near Granada.
