Hellnar View Point

About the place
The hamlet of Hellnar sits at the foot of Snæfellsjökull, on the west coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Its viewpoint stands where the land breaks into stacked basalt, arches and caves, and a short path leads down to the shore and the Baðstofa sea cave. Kittiwakes, fulmars and Arctic terns nest on the cliffs in summer, and seals sometimes rest on the rocks below. The cliff walk to Arnarstapi starts here.
