Hermitage of San Emeterio and San Celedonio

About the place
Hermitage of San Emeterio and San Celedonio sits atop a vertical cliff, blending seamlessly with the rugged limestone relief. The eleventh-century apse and lombardic masonry reflect the Romanesque style of the Pyrenees. Visitors follow a historic pilgrimage path that links the hermitage with monasteries and castles of the upper Sobrarbe region. From the ledge, the gorge and El Grado reservoir stretch out in striking turquoise and ochre tones. Cliff overhangs protect the ancient stonework from wind, creating an intimate and contemplative atmosphere.
