Mirador de ses Barques is a lookout on the Ma-10, the road that runs from Sóller towards Lluc through the Serra de Tramuntana. It stands above Port de Sóller, and its name, the viewpoint of the boats, refers to the view down onto the harbour and its bay. A restaurant with a terrace occupies the viewpoint, serving paella and fish, with a free car park and two bus stops beside it. It is best known as a place to watch the sun set over the port.

What makes it special
From the terrace edge the bay of Port de Sóller opens below, the harbour tucked into its curve and open sea beyond the headlands. In the evening the sun goes down over the port, and the tables along the edge are the ones everyone wants.
The restaurant itself is plain to look at. Accounts of the food and service run from fresh fish, a good vegetable paella and friendly staff to slow tables and a long wait to be seated. The view is the constant. Walking signposts stand by the road near the car park, so the stop also works as a pause on a day spent in the mountains.
Good to know
- The restaurant is closed on Mondays and shuts early on Sundays, so a Sunday sunset dinner is off in summer.
- For a table at the edge with the view at sunset, book ahead.
- The only toilets are the restaurant's; there are no public toilets and no drinking water nearby.
- The restaurant entrance is not wheelchair accessible.
- Cards and contactless payment are accepted, and dogs are allowed.
Getting there
The viewpoint sits directly on the Ma-10, the winding mountain road from Sóller towards Lluc, so the approach is the drive itself. A free paved car park lies beside the viewpoint, about 40 m away, with a second free paved area about 80 m off.
Without a car, two bus stops, Mirador de ses Barques 1 and Mirador de ses Barques 2, stand at the roadside about 40 m and 100 m away. From either the car park or the stops there is no walk to speak of: you step out and the bay is in front of you.
Best time to visit
Best: late afternoon into sunset, with a table booked at the edge of the terrace.
Avoid: Mondays, and Sunday evenings if you want to eat.
The sun sets over Port de Sóller, so the evening light falls across the bay, while the restaurant is shut on Mondays and closes early on Sundays.
