Miravet Castle

Miravet Castle is a fortified complex built by the Templars on the foundations of a former Muslim alcazar. Situated at the summit of a steep hill, the castle controls the surrounding valley and the river crossing below. Its austere walls, vaulted halls, and defensive terraces reflect the military character of the order. The fortress is the central landmark of Miravet and the final point of the historic walking route through the town.
