Sant Miquel del Fai

About the place
Sant Miquel del Fai sits on multi-tiered limestone cliffs shaped by erosion over millions of years. The monastery church is fully built into a natural grotto, creating unique acoustics and constant coolness. From the terraces, visitors can see the vertical Tenor canyon with niches and deep pools carved by flowing water. Ochre cliffs, lush Mediterranean vegetation, and cascading waterfalls create a mystical atmosphere attracting hermits and pilgrims for centuries. The Rossinyol waterfall reaches several tens of meters and is most impressive after heavy rains, adding dynamic beauty to the site.
