Playa del Jablillo is a beach in Costa Teguise, a resort in the municipality of Teguise on the east coast of Lanzarote. It lies in a shallow cove of golden sand, with rocks and rock pools along the beach and calm, clear water where fish swim even in the shallows. The gentle waves make it a family beach, and the cove is used for snorkelling and diving. A hotel stands directly opposite, and there are places to eat and drink close by.

What makes it special
Fish swim in the clear water even where it is shallow, so a mask and snorkel pay off from the moment you wade in. The water in the cove is turquoise and calm, the waves are gentle, and the sand is soft and golden.
Rocks and pools along the beach give children something to poke around in between swims. Early in the day, before the cove fills, it is quiet enough to hear the waves and the birds. Even under a grey winter sky the water keeps its colour.
Good to know
- Bring a mask and snorkel: fish swim in the shallows, close enough to watch without swimming out.
- Free public toilets are about 25 m away.
- There is no drinking water tap nearby. Bring your own, or buy it at the places to eat and drink near the beach.
- The wind can blow hard across the cove, and a windy day takes much of the pleasure out of lying on the sand.
- A tourist information office is about 575 m away, and a map board stands near the car parks.
Getting there
Two asphalt car parks sit about 155 m from the beach in a straight line, with a map board beside them. From there you walk straight down onto the sand.
By bus, the nearest stop is about 195 m away; the Pueblo Marinero stop is about 530 m away. The beach faces the hotels of Costa Teguise, and with places to eat and drink close by, it is easy to spend the whole day here without moving the car.
Best time to visit
Best: early morning, before the sand fills. Avoid: late morning to mid-afternoon, roughly 11:00 to 16:00. The cove gets very busy and loud through the middle of the day; in winter it is quieter, though rain and wind can cut a visit short.
