El Salto Waterfall

Cascada del Salto is formed by a massive limestone ledge that overhangs the pool, creating a natural grotto behind the falling water. The rock surface is carved by erosion, tree roots, and mossy streaks that emphasize the vertical drop of the cascade. The waterfall stands in a natural amphitheater where sound is amplified, producing a continuous roar that dominates the surrounding forest. Historically, the power of this water was used to drive mills and textile workshops, traces of which can still be found nearby, adding a human layer to the landscape shaped by water.
