Es Pontas

Es Pontas

About the place

The Es Pontas rock is a giant arch rising twenty meters out of the water, located just a few dozen meters from the coastline. This natural stone bridge is situated in the southeastern part of the island, between the coves of Cala Santanyi and Cala Llombards. The site gained international fame among extreme climbers for deep-water soloing along the interior of the arch. A mainland viewpoint directly facing the rock is accessible via a dirt path. The formation serves as a prime example of how marine erosion carves monumental sculptural shapes out of coastal cliffs.
