Gradas de Soaso

Gradas de Soaso

About the place

Gradas de Soaso form a spectacular natural staircase in Ordesa Glacier Valley, where the Arasas River descends in a continuous chain of cascades. The layered limestone terraces reflect millions of years of sedimentation, sculpted by the relentless flow of water. Steep cliffs around the cascades preserve traces of ancient glaciers, creating a dramatic corridor for the river. The emerald pools at the base of the steps mirror the gray cliffs above, while alpine plants cling to ledges, adding patches of green to the rocky landscape. Walking along the cascades, visitors experience the rhythm of water shaping stone, a living testament to the power of geology.
