Kollsvik

Kollsvík is a broad golden-sand cove on the westernmost peninsula of Iceland's Westfjords, just north of the Látrabjarg cliffs. For centuries it was one of the biggest fishing stations in the south Westfjords, and the last farm was abandoned in the early 2000s. Marked ruins, a rebuilt turf wall called Garður and information signs tell that story along the shore. Expect birds, sheep, driftwood and few other people.
