Lake Ibon de Escarpinosa

Lake Ibon de Escarpinosa is a natural water basin whose crystal-clear pool is framed by black pine groves and massive boulders covered in rhododendrons. Unlike the harsher high-altitude lakes, this lake stands out for its serene landscape and emerald waters, which mirror the snowy slopes of the Perdiguero peak. A distinctive feature of the site is a small islet and shallow patches that create a vibrant play of colors in the sunlight. Nestled in the lateral Estos Valley, the lake serves as a perfect resting spot before more demanding ascents, offering hikers a rare combination of forest, water, and monumental rock walls.
