Lake Ibon Grande de Batisielles

Lake Ibon Grande de Batisielles is a high-altitude natural basin forming a wide pool surrounded by a stark landscape of broken stone. Unlike the smaller lake below, this "ibón" (lake) is devoid of trees, its shores defined by granite slabs and the steep scree slopes of the Perafita peak. The mirror-like surface of the water reflects the sharp spires of the Agujas de Inet, creating a quintessential central Pyrenean landscape. The trail to the lake involves a steep ascent from the Estos Valley, rewarding hikers with the breathtaking expanse of a glacial cirque where the only sound is the roar of seasonal waterfalls.
