Levada do Alecrim

About the place
The Levada do Alecrim runs along a water channel at an altitude of about 1300 m in the Rabaçal valley on the island of Madeira. The route is approximately 3.5 km one way (about 7 km round trip), takes around 2 hours and 30 minutes, and is considered an easy walk. Along the way, hikers pass through dense laurel forests, enjoy views of the Rabaçal valley, and traverse narrow tunnels, with the trail finishing at the source of the channel near the picturesque Lagoa Dona Beja.
