Levada do Caldeirão Verde Trail

The Levada do Caldeirão Verde Trail is a scenic hiking route on Madeira Island that runs through the ancient Laurisilva forest and ends at the Caldeirão Verde waterfall. The route is about 8–12 km (one way) and follows an old irrigation channel with tunnels and narrow sections hanging above cliffs. It is one of Madeira’s most impressive hikes — the lush green walls of the forest, hanging cliffs, and the sound of running water create a truly magical atmosphere.
