Pena Telera

About the place
Pena Telera mountain rises majestically above the Tena Valley, its limestone cliffs forming an imposing natural fortress. The steep slopes bear traces of ancient glaciers, with deep gullies and couloirs carved by centuries of wind and snow avalanches. Sunset often casts a rich reddish hue across the cliffs, contrasting sharply with the cold high-mountain sky. The limestone layers at the mountain’s base record millions of years of geological history, uplifted by enormous tectonic forces. Harsh conditions limit vegetation to resilient alpine plants on the scree, while snow can linger in deep crevices throughout the summer.
