Bjarnarhöfn Shark Museum

About the place
Hákarl is Greenland shark, fermented for months until it is edible. The family here has made it for generations, on a farm on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. A visit takes in a talk on how the shark is caught, pressed and buried, the open shed where the shark hangs drying on racks, and a tasting: a cube on a toothpick with the caraway spirit brennivín.
